Cavity Closer System
Our cavity closer system helps builders create accurate window apertures, and gives an engineered fit for the windows. It guarantees compliance with Building Regulations Part ‘L’ in closing the cavity and correctly positioning the windows.
We can supply our cavity closer system to suit 50mm, 75mm or 100mm cavities – please specify which you need when ordering. Fixing packs, including all the necessary components for fitting JELD-WEN windows, are available separately.
When you order a window to fit into a cavity closer, always state on the order, “window to be installed into cavity closer”. Cavity closer orders will only be accepted when JELD-WEN windows are to be supplied
Using the System with Timber Windows
Timber windows can be installed using the standard 158mm sill. Other sill dimensions maybe suitable, depending on your building design. Please make sure the right sill is specified when you place an order - JELD-WEN cannot accept responsibility for incorrect specifications. For advice on Part ‘L’, please refer to our Technical Window Specification Guide.

Fire Stops
Our cavity closer system cannot be used as a fire stop in properties of timber-frame construction. Fire stops are not normally required in conventional masonry/masonry construction, but if you need one, there are a number of proprietary products you can use with our cavity closer system.
