Glazing Information - Fully Glazed Sliding Sash
Factory glazing – Simulated Divided Light (SDL) Designs
We supply our sliding sash timber windows fully glazed with one 24mm insulating glass unit in each separate sash. Inside the unit, matching spacer bars define the sight lines, and slim glazing bars are permanently bonded to both outer faces. A centre pane U-Value of 1.4W/m2K achieves a whole window thermal transmittance of 1.8W/m2K. Other energy efficient glazing specifications are available on request.
All windows have glazing rebates of 18 x 42mm and are fully glazed with a drained and vented glazing system. We fit timber glazing beads as standard.
For windows more than 1350mm in height, we supply low level glazing units as tempered safety glass to satisfy BS 6262: Part 4: 1994.
Low E annealed toughened glass, plain or obscure and other options are also available to order.
Factory glazing – Traditional True Divided Light Designs
If you prefer a True Divided Light design, we still supply the traditional timber glazing bar and fully-beaded option, factory-glazed for all the on-site advantages of convenience and reliability.
To meet the requirements of a True Divided Light design, the traditional timber glazing bar and fully-beaded option is still available, fully factory-glazed for all on-site advantages of convenience and reliability.
For the best overall quality on factory-glazed windows, we recommend factory finishing with Hi-Build stain or Hi-Build paint.

Windows with 24mm Low E Glazing
To allow a brick co-ordinating tolerance, actual size of frames shown in this section are 5mm less in height and width than those shown in the illustrations.
U-Values for factory-glazed SDL sliding sash windows are 1.8W/m2K.
