Frame Types and Configurations
Wooden Windows from the JELD-WEN Sovereign Stormsure range are available in two types of timber:
- softwood, protected with an advanced preservative system
- selected quality hardwood
Factory-glazed with 24mm Low E, softwood window.
Softwood window frame only.
Softwood factory finished. This symbol is also used for factory finished softwood windows with SDL.
Factory-glazed with 24mm Low E, softwood window with Simulated Divided Lights.
Factory-glazed with 24mm Low E, hardwood frame.
Hardwood factory finished. This symbol is also used for factory finished hardwood windows with SDL.

The sizes of wooden windows shown within this website are co-ordinating sizes Ref: BS 644. The actual sizes of the frames are 5mm less in height and width. This is not an installation clearance.
Windows with a product code followed by /A or /O can be supplied either hand. The drawings show the window as viewed from the outside of the building (/A). Please order the /O option if you require the opposite hand. We will supply windows "As catalogue" (/A) unless you specify otherwise.
Casement wooden windows above 630mm wide x 900mm high and fitted with butt hinges can be used as Fire Egress windows.
Ventilators
All Sovereign Stormsure windows are supplied with flush-fitting ventilators as standard in white or brown.
Weatherstrip
A beige weatherstrip is fitted as standard, with white or brown colour options available.
Important
If sill size, finish, ventilator colour and ironmongery colour is not specified, the windows will be supplied with a standard 158mm nominal sill, basecoat stained with brown ventilator(s), gold effect ironmongery, beige weatherstrip and butt hinges.
